Vatican Launches Cricket Club
As part of the new initiatives taken by Pope Francis, Vatican launched a cricket club called St. Peter’s Cricket Club. According to reports, their intention is not only to challenge the Church of England to a match but clerics of other faith too. This ‘ecumenical game’ may take place in September next year, during the seminary holidays in Rome. Most of the team members are priests coming from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
It seems many other evangelical Christians also might take it as a challenge as they have already done in various other things. So we can expect a ‘believer’s cricket club’ in near future and a match between teams of different denominations and groups. After all what we need are a crowd and their applause!
