God doesn’t go away

“ “Why do you stand afar off, O Lord? Why do you hide in times of trouble?” Psalm.10:1

Does God really hide Himself from His people? It is a question many have asked during various trials. Particularly when the godly suffers and the ungodly prosper. Being humiliated by the pride & arrogance of the wicked men believers might ask like the psalmist, “Why –Lord –you are away-hiding?”

No, the Lord doesn’t deliberately hide from His people. Of course our sins and iniquities might hinder Him from coming close to us but He doesn’t find any pleasure in that. He wants to be close to us. He sees our trouble and the real state. We may feel He is away, but the truth is He is carefully watching.

What shall we do? As the psalmist did, go to Him and ask humbly. Examine our life, if there is any reason that can keep us away from the Lord. Then we will discover He is on the throne, He is the father of the fatherless, and He is our helper and near to us in all our trouble. He does see, listen and do justice for us. He is not away; it is we who would go away.
