According to the figures published by the UK government’s Office for National Statistics (ONS), only a minority of children of UK parents grow with a married mother and father. In 1996, 38.7 % of the babies were born outside marriage, but in 2006 it rose to 49.4%.
The report says that only one in 50 children of mothers who were born in India before they came to the UK had unmarried parents. Many feel that such a scenario will disturb the lives of youths.
